landileigh's little world

I began thinking of what I could present to the Biggest Loser participants as a challenge for this week, and I realized to myself, this is not just about working on our bodies, but working on our minds, and spirit.

Sooooooooo, I ask all of the Biggest Loser 'D' Style participants, and everyone else in the Diabetes Online Community, to please leave in the comments section the answer to this:

HOW ARE YOU BLESSED IN YOUR LIFE?

and remember:

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

When upon life's billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the Lord has done

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

Are you ever burdened
With a load of care
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear
Count your many blessings
Every doubt will fly
And you will be singing
As the days go by

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

When you look at others
With their lands and gold
Think that Christ has promised
You His wealth untold
Count your many blessings
Money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven
Nor your home on high

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

So, amid the conflict
Whether great or small
Do not be discouraged
God is over all
Count your many blessings
Angels will attend
Help and comfort give you
To your journey's end

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

I am blessed in so many ways. I have a wonderful husband who is everything I could have ever hoped for. I have a loving family. I have wonderful friends, both on-line and in-life. I feel loved every day. And I am healthy - even with diabetes, I am healthy.

Thank you for reminding me to count my blessings.

Well, I am blessed to be alive, with minimal complications from this dreaded disease. I am blessed to have a job. I am blessed to have three healthy children. I am blessed with a lot of friends. I am blessed with a brain that God gave me to use. Overall, I'm pretty lucky.

I feel very blessed and thankful to God for everything I have -but especially for giving me a strong and supportive family who always believe in me, good health with really no complications from diabetes (knock on wood!), a good job with tenure, friends who encourage me to write and publish and believe I have something to say, and for being able to help my parents as they age.

I have been blessed in so many ways. I have a wonderful family, an extraordinary husband that supports me no matter what. I love my life even though sometimes it can really seem like it sucks and nothing is going right. But, it makes me stronger and I believe that you are given things in life for a reason. Although I am still trying to figure all that out lol

I'm blessed with a husband of 34 years, five children and 2 grandchildren. I'm blessed with a chunk of metal and plastic in my chest that keeps my heart beating. I'm blessed with a plastic pump that keeps my blood sugar stable so that I don't have to inject myself many times a day. I'm blessed with a mom that's still alive and lives nearby and who is willing to do just about anything to keep us going. I'm blessed with great kids without the usual kid problems that go with them. I'm blessed with friends who love me as much as I love them. I'm blessed with strength and tenacity that gets me through just about anything.

Since I'm not religious, I don't consider myself blessed necessarily.

I'm grateful that we're able to live comfortably with good health insurance and that we're able to make a small impact in the lives who aren't as fortunate.

I'm grateful for the love of immediate and extended family, including my husband. And grateful for our feline companions, too.

I'm grateful that I can walk less than a mile from my house and see the snow-covered mountains in the distance; that I live in the majestic West.

So many things to be thankful for...

I have a husband that's loved me and stuck by me through the toughest of times and best of times.

For 3 fantastic grown up kids that have turned out to be wonderful people that I'm so proud of.

To have been adopted by a cat that loves and adores me ... I so wanted a cat, but kept putting off getting one until circumstances changed. Then Noble showed up at my door and has been my constant companion since.

That even with lots of health hassles, I can get out and go on walks, go to aqua aerobics, and meet new people.

I'm blessed to find an online community with others who have diabetes and support each other through thick and thin.

To live in the most beautiful country in the world and yet still be able to participate in my USA family's lives via the Internet.

I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. Thanks Landileigh, for causing me to stop and think about the good things in my life.
