We have been very lucky in that a couple of kind diabetes companies have offered up prizes for our Biggest Loser 'D' Styler's! We will be giving away these prizes at an end of the challenges raffle. For each week that our 'D' Stylers gave full participation to the Biggest Loser program, their name will go into the hat. At the end of the full 14 weeks, names will be pulled and these great prizes will be offered!

Diabetic Care Services is sending all the contestants a free copy of Calorie King. The book is an invaluable resource, educating diabetics on how to make better food choices, is a National Top 100 Best Seller and aligns very well with the overall purpose of the Biggest Loser D Style competition.
In addition to providing all the contestants with the Calorie King, Care Services would also like to present one of our end of challenge winners with a free Jazz Meter and Test Strips!

Rickina Founder | Designer of Stick Me Designs, Stylish Accessories for the Modern Diabetic have offered up these gorgeous bags!
I began thinking of what I could present to the Biggest Loser participants as a challenge for this week, and I realized to myself, this is not just about working on our bodies, but working on our minds, and spirit.
Sooooooooo, I ask all of the Biggest Loser 'D' Style participants, and everyone else in the Diabetes Online Community, to please leave in the comments section the answer to this:
HOW ARE YOU BLESSED IN YOUR LIFE?
and remember:
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done
When upon life's billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the Lord has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done
Are you ever burdened
With a load of care
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear
Count your many blessings
Every doubt will fly
And you will be singing
As the days go by
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done
When you look at others
With their lands and gold
Think that Christ has promised
You His wealth untold
Count your many blessings
Money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven
Nor your home on high
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done
So, amid the conflict
Whether great or small
Do not be discouraged
God is over all
Count your many blessings
Angels will attend
Help and comfort give you
To your journey's end
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

Congratulations to all of the Biggest Loser participants for making it to the halfway point of this challenge! YOU ALL DESERVE KUDOS!
The Challenge for Week #6 was to name your "Last Meal"
Cara
Well, prior to my recent trip to Maryland, I would have said Chinese followed by pizza and ice cream.
After my trip to Maryland, and the Blue Moon Cafe, I say Captin Crunch French Toast please. Double order.
Erin
I would not have a "real meal per se". I'd have to do a complete smorgasbord cooked by my mom and dad!
Dad's Specialties:
Waffles (with sugar free syrup)
Deep Fried Potatoe "pie"
French Toast
Fried Eggs with Bacon and sausages
Mom's specialties would be dessert:
Apple Pie
Lemon Cheese Cake
Fruit Tart
I don't remember not being diabetic (dx'd age 2 1/2), but for most of my life we did not carb count so I ate WELL. Now, knowing better, I've eliminated a lot of these things from my diet, but I would LOVE a weekend with mom and dad cooking for me! aaahhhhh.... I might even invite my hubby, kids, brother and his family, and of course ALL OF YOU GUYS too! You'd LOVE my parents/family : )
Flmgodog
Oooooohhhh... gotta have lots of foo-foo drinks with lots and lots of fruit juice, pineapples, oranges, and marchino cherries.
A dessert buffet with creme brulee, ice cream, banana's foster, cherries jubilee
Lots of pasta and chinese
Gaelyne
I've apparently already had my 'last meal'. :-)
When I was back in the USA in 2006, I treated my son and daughter in law to a meal at Tony's, which is a restaurant chain in Michigan famous for their steak sandwiches and other good stuff. When I told the waitress I'd been away in Australia for the last 10yrs, her reply was 'Oh, so you'll be wanting a steak sandwich then. You bet!!
I had a steak sandwich with cheese and mushrooms, an order of onion rings and an order of deep fried mushrooms. The mushrooms I couldn't finish so as per my habit of years past, I took them home for later.
Back at my kids place, they had a treat waiting for me - a whole bunch of Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. I was in heaven.
Gina
Ok seriously I dont have to think that hard about this
I would go to Cheesecake Factory
On a saturday because I like their soup of the day only then Creamy Chicken Then I would order The Sushi Appetizer Chicken Costoletta for entree Regular Cheesecake with strawberries
Then I would top it off with one of those Chocolate shake looking things i always see people order and then I would wake up from my dream lol
Herlinda

close second is all the mexican food ;)
Jenny
Oh my. Last meal. I think it would be a bunch of different things. I would have Sweet corn tamale cakes from Cheesecake factory, Lots and lots of chips. Spaghetti and lots of garlic bread, apparently carbs carbs carbs!!! I would top it off with a bunch of Daquri ice ice cream from baskin robbins. OH my goodness I want it all now!!!
Jill
It would have to be Brunch at Brennan's Restaurant in New Orleans. It would have to included plenty of chocolate, any rice and potato dishes, and hurricanes, and of course, their bananas foster flambe.
If you asked me in my younger days, it would be seafood and chocolate, but now, I just have a hankering to have a lot of alcohol! :-)
Joanie
TOTALLY easy!
Mexican food. LOTS of mexican food. In detail it would be a huge tostada, a beef tostada, with refried beans (made with lard), beef, lettuce, onions, fresh salsa, 1 cup of sour cream (drooling), and another cup of fresh guacamole. As a side I would have TONS of chips and salsa, a variety of salsas actually. To drink I would have bottomless tequila sunrises. Can we have multiple last meals....as in just eating until we feel like we're going to die....when that's okay because it's our last meal? Dang it, now I need mexican food...RIGHT NOW.
Julia
Oh, where to start? Can I have a stomach that never fills up? Because I think I'd need it for this meal:
Mussels steamed in white wine, garlic and chopped tomato.
Lobsters, steamed, with drawn butter.
Porterhouse stead or ribeye steak, so rare it's still mooing, with sauteed mushrooms & onions.
Baked potato with sour cream, bacon and chives.
Grilled asparagus.
Haricot vert with bleu cheese and crumbled bacon
A bottle of cabernet sauvignon (well, probably not the whole thing, but 2 glasses would be nice).
New York style cheesecake, preferably from Junior's in NYC.
Chocolate-covered strawberries.
And a cup of strong, black coffee.
I could come up with about six other last meals, but this would probably be at the top of the list. And now I'm hungry, dammit.
Kim
Barona Casino - Oaks Steakhouse
Oysters
Caesar Salad
Filet (Rare of course) with baked potato and sour cream Artichoke with lemon button and aioli Creme Brulee with Rasberries Cheesecake
And since I'll be as big as a house and won't be able to travel far - spend the night at the hotel and have fun at the spa
Landileigh
Mimi's American Bistro (now Stars Bistro & Bar) 2120 P St NW, Washington, DC 20037 I"d order the Steak Diane with the Pear & Cheese Salad and Creme Brulee for Dessert
Rachel
Escargot w/ garlic butter and bread
Oysters on the half shell (half dozen)
Caesar salad
Rack of lamb w/ garlic mashed potatoes
Creme Brulee
Raquel
A Salvadoran tamale (the kind my grandmother used to make) with crusty french rolls and casamiento (refried beans and rice) with fried plantains (sweet and perfect, not green and hard as they often are here) and to drink chocolate made with water (Mexican hot chocolate). For dessert: any decadent French pastry, better yet! a French pastry buffet with creme brulee, eclairs, fruit tarts, strawberry cake, and decadent chocolate raspberry cake and chocolate croissants. !!
